Who writes the guidance

Everything on this site is written by Markus Field, a time-served carpenter and joiner with twenty-four years in the UK building trade — six as a sole trader and eleven as director of a limited building contractor with a team of nine.

His experience sets the agenda and the examples. It is not treated as proof: where a claim depends on law, tax or a provider's terms, the page cites the source rather than relying on his say-so. Marcus is not a regulated adviser and nothing here is personalised advice.

Where authority actually comes from

Three places, checked independently of the author's experience:

• –Cited primary sources — legislation, HMRC and government guidance, regulators and named providers — linked on the page where the claim appears.
• –Calculators that show their arithmetic, so you can check the logic against your own figures instead of trusting an output.
• –Named professional reviewers where one has been engaged for that subject. Where no reviewer is engaged, the page says so rather than displaying an invented name.

What we will not publish

To keep the guidance honest, the following are prohibited across the site:

• –Invented case studies, customer testimonials, star ratings, awards or media mentions.
• –Invented statistics, survey results or industry averages presented as fact.
• –Personalised tax, legal, employment, insurance or financial advice.
• –Any suggestion that a price will be accepted, an application will succeed, or a reward will be paid.

How guidance is kept current

Pages that depend on rates, thresholds or statutory figures carry a published and updated date and are re-checked against source when those figures change.

Where a figure is time-sensitive and has not been re-verified, the page says what it was verified against and when, rather than quietly presenting a stale number.
